New Hope Ministries began as one woman’s vision to help survivors of domestic violence. She realized many who were leaving shelters were moving into apartments with little to no furnishings. She felt a call to service and started collecting items, storing them in her garage and sharing them with those in need.
Over a decade later that vision has grown to a network of dedicated volunteers and donors who are providing furniture, housewares, art and decor to families and survivors of domestic violence all throughout our area.
Using donated items, our teams of volunteers furnish and decorate apartments specially tailored to each family. Since 2012, we have served nearly 600 families and impacted the lives of hundreds of children in our community.
The process is simple but it takes a village of dedicated volunteers to make it all happen. A team of volunteers are continually searching, collecting and sorting gently used items from the community. Our delivery team liasons meet with clients to determine their needs and carefully select furniture and other items that will not only be functional for them but also make their house a home. Finally, we have amazing teams of people who deliver the items and set up the apartment. The result: almost every Saturday morning a crew of 8-10 volunteers arrives at a client’s empty apartment and transforms it into a welcoming, beautiful home.
Our team is made up of an amazing group of volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those we humbly serve.
