This past weekend New Hope Volunteers were honored and privileged to help a young mother and her two children turn a bare apartment into a beautiful home. Even in the heat of the day nothing held us back from getting the job done. 

This family literally had nothing until New Hope stepped in to help. When the family returned there were tears of joy. Mom kept repeating “I never expected anything like this”. She was so happy and the children very excited about their new bedroom. 

After the crew left, she texted this message: “I’m still a little overwhelmed. I’m so happy. I love everything. Just feels like it’s a home. It feels warm and cozy like a big hug.” 

The experience was rewarding and wonderful for all who participated that day. But the results go far beyond the actual crew. Thanks to all those who donate, those who pick up donations, and all who organize the warehouse so that the delivery can go smoothly. Good job, everyone.
