This weekend, New Hope had the joy of helping a single Mom start to get back on her feet. Our client’s one-bedroom apartment had been empty for several months and she was sleeping on an air mattress that had a hole in it. When we made our initial visit, the client mentioned that she used to love to sew and quilt, but that she had to leave her crafting and sewing behind when she was forced to leave her home. So, New Hope put out a request for a sewing machine and our awesome community of supporters went above and beyond! We received a sewing table with the sewing machine built-in, along with tons of fabric and sewing notions, and a generous gift card for our client to use for any missing supplies. Our team of volunteers worked diligently to furnish the apartment with everything that makes a house a home, but what our client was most excited about was a “real bed” and the ability to use her creative skills on the sewing machine once again! She was left almost speechless, only asking one question - “Can I keep all of this?” New Hope is privileged to be able to help our clients go from having nothing in many cases to owning a home full of household necessities thanks in large part to our wonderful supporters like you!
